We has plans to implement fully-functional report generator in upcoming release.

Now we use XML+XSL for money report and plan report and iText + JFreeChart for third report.

Also, we has some experience with FOP.

We need:
1) HTML/PDF reports
2) Customizable.
3) Supports different character encoding.
4) Supports charts.

Please suggest technology for report generator.

I think, user must have an ability to get XML data for report (exporting) and PDF presentation for printing (for example).
So, XML must be a basis for reports. Then it is possible to use XSL/FOP of transformation for the textual reports, and jFreeChart for the diagrams

I think that FOP is not very good idea, its still has very limited set of features.
