New to TrackStudio

Postby cxsmith » Wed Sep 26, 2012 8:13 am

I am new to Track Studio and have installed it on my laptop; I have logged in as root and created a personal account as administrator, I have now logged in under the personal login as administratorrator and am looking to get started, my first job is to create a Test Project however following the User Manual, I do not see the "Create" Buttons. have I forgotten to set something in any of the processes? Is there a simplified (yep probably that simple!!) guide for new users to establsih projects, requirements and Requirement Attributes?

No doubt this will be the first of many simplistic questions.

Hello!

Have you installed demo db ? Create buttons depends on your current project, it should be on the top toolbar.

Also please check TrackStudio 3.5 tutorial

UI in 4.0 different, but internal logic the same.

I am following the documentation and following Installation thre is a requirement to create database; this is not an active selection on the Server Management Console. Regardless I have the following Projects in the Tasks Tree |Christ Test; MyProject; KioskTestProject and Filecontainer.

I am trying find the CreateTask Button. I have defined Categories and ticked "Show In Toolbar"; I have assigned workfows to categories, and I have defined CustomFields.

It may sound simple but how do you start to create tasks. (I have Requirements, Headings, FunctReqt, and NonFunctReqt.) This is what I want to create:

Project 123
-----Requirement Specification (Heading)
----------Requirement S-001
----------Requirement S-002
-----SubSystems(Heading)
----------SubSystem1(Heading)
--------------Requirement S-003
----------SubSystem2 (Heading)

You need to check that your role has a permission to create new categories.
You need to open Tab category -> permission -> add your role.
Then you will see new button add new category in the top of tasks lists.

Yours faithfully.
